Jan 3, 2010 Miken Super Freak 98 ASA Softball Bat. Midload swing weight. Right in between balanced and maxload. Hot out of the wrapper. This Midload is perfect for the rec players all the way up to competitive B level players. It's not too endloaded and it is not too balanced and has a great feel to it. The Midload weighting is perfect for the slightly higher pitches in ASA play. Thin Handle. 100% Composite. R900 Carbon fiber provides 38.8" higher tensile strength than industry standard carbon fiber. (DST) Durashell Technology acts as a composite "shield" on the outer shell of the 100% carbon fiber barrel, maximizing performance out of the wrapper.

PERSONAL REVIEW:

I tested this bat with Mike Kelly and Adam Peterson from Miken Sports on 3-23-2010 at Hemenway Valley Park in Boulder City, NV. The field is 300 feet all around. The temp was around 65 degrees and the wind was blowing to right field, so the ball carried great to right but did not help too much to left field. We used brand new miken 44/400 compression softballs. We tested a 28oz. right out of the wrapper. I hit the bat first and was hitting them right out of the park fresh out of the wrapper. I even hit mishit a few that still went out of the park and that is always the true sign of a special bat. The one I hit off of the scoreboard in left I barely even hit and it still went out of the park. Adam Peterson from Miken tested the bat second and he hit 16 homers including some tape measure shots over 400 foot and some really nice hard liners out of about 30 swings. 58 year old Mike Kelly hit the bat third and shows in his video that a senior player can get it done with the new ASA standard 98 mph bats and he ended up hitting 4 homers in a row. DESCRIPTION:

Don't have the time or resources to break in your bat before your first game, then let the professionals do it for you. We will break in your bat by hitting 100 softballs that are pitched from a pitching machine. The balls will be pitched at regular slo pitch speed with an arc of 6 TO 8 ft. We will rotate the bat so the entire barrel breaks in evenly. The Factory shrink wrap paper will be left on the bat during the break in process. This will not void your warranty like rolling your bat in a machine would. For Slow Pitch and Fastpitch Softball Bats the Softball used will be a 12 inch Dudley Thunder 44 core 400 compression.

For Baseball Bats the ball used will be the Rawlings Senior Little League Leather Baseballs.
